The Marathon Called Life

I talked to Sue on the phone today and she told me that I needed to write down my experiences training for this marathon in May. So here it goes. As most of you know I am training for the Ogden Marathon in May. I'm training with my friend Joy. We are running about 30 miles a week now and my body is starting to feel old. Saturday we were scheduled to run 16 miles but with the weather we manage to get in 12. When we started running the weather was good, but as time went by the wind began to blow, then it started to blow hard. For two steps forward I felt we went one step back. Then it started to snow. We were so cold and sick of fighting the wind, we decided that if we could make it back to our cars that was good enough. That was the hardest run yet. It has been fun training for a marathon. Never in my life did I ever think I would run more than 2 miles. Now I have signed up to run 26 miles, it's been fun and it has given me something to work towards.

This week I also had a volleyball marathon. My "old ladies league" team lost in the first round of tournament, so Wednesday night we had our work cut out for us if we wanted to win. We started playing at 6:30 and didn't finish until 11:05pm with only a few short brakes. We did great, we won 14 out of 15 games. In my thoughts it was a miracle. That was a huge accomplishment in my book. Needless to say Thursday and Friday I was dead. That could be one contributing factor to why Saturdays run was so hard.

Now for the kids. Let's go back a few weeks. We went to Vegas to the ConExpo and we had a blast. The kids loved climbing all over the equipment and the venders loved the kids. Everywhere we went people were handing the kids hats, t-shirts, and toys. We also visited Shemri, Rand, Jake, and Braden. Easton and Jake had lots of fun together. We went to In & Out to have a burger. Now we know you need to order your burger "animal style." We also went to the Tree House Museum with Easton's and Scout's preschool. The kids had a blast. We have plans to go back we had so much fun and we were not able to see everything. And how about the worst mom ever I forgot to take my camera to Vegas and the museum. I figure now to will always remember because I will put the pictures on our now blog.

Easton went to Kindergarten Roundup this week. Now he is way excited to go to the "big school."

As for Justin, he has been working hard to provide for his family!
