Memorial Day Weekend all the Hopes and Jean's family spent the weekend at the San Rafael Swell, better known as the desert. We had a fabulous time. All together we had about 16 adults and 15 kids, 4 of which were under a year old. Quite the group if you ask me. Saturday the men and Ali went for a horse ride but no one took a camera and we all missed out an a great Kodak moment when they had 3 horses and 3 men balanced on a rock. The moms and kids went on a hike searching for the mysteries of the land. When we could find any we make up our own. We drew our own Native writings and explored the cowboy hide outs. Sunday we spend the day exploring what the Swell had to offer. We looking at some Indian writings, explored the Military Caves, where the kids were scared of the dark, and glanced over what they call the Little Grand Canyon. It was beautiful. We spent some time around the camp fire attempting to sing the old cowboy songs, but we never really got it the moment. We also played our usually softball game. I can tell we are all getting older or maybe the kids are still too young because our game only lasted two innings where it use to go on forever. All in all we had a good time. When we asked the kids what there favorite part of the weekend was Easton liked the snake the best (Casey found a snake and Bob picked it up). Scout liked playing with her cousins. Thanks everyone for a fabulous weekend.
