Wellington Rodeo

For the last few years, the Hopes family has made the Wellington Rodeo a family event. The small town rodeo is full of fun and even more Hopes participants. We always have a good time.
This year Justin managed to talk me into doing the Hide Race. For those of you who may not know what that is, it is a two person race (one on the horse the other on the hide) where the person on the horse (Justin) runs to the other end of the arena where the other person (me) grabs the rope and ride the hide to the other end of the arena. Justin did a fantastic job on Jade (the horse). Me, not so good. I grabbed the rope but missed the hide. Justin drug me to the other end of the arena on the dirt. I guess I was the dumb one. I could have let go, but I know that if I let go there would be a price to pay and that my marriage might be on the line, so I held on tight. Then next day I was covered with scrapes and bruises. We'll get'em next year babe!

This is me in the dust and Justin on Jade competing in the Hide Race.

This is me being drug behind a horse going supper fast.
Half time entertainment comes cheep at a home town rodeo. They had a dancing contest. Justin, Sue, and Ali were all participants. They were all blind folded and told to dance. It was quite entertaining. Guess who won, that's right my hubby! Congrats!

Easton and Hunter the two toughest mutton busters.

One of our favorite events of the night is the mutton busters. Easton has done it every year since he was three. He did such a great job.

This is my favorite picture. Easton face plants it every time, you can see this one coming.

Thanks Wellington Mountaineers for a great Rodeo!
