Hopes Hunt

I know, I know, I have been the worlds worst blogger. I feel like I have been running a rats race. I thought having the kids in school would be nice but I feel like all I do is drop kids off and pick kids up. It's okay, I love the two hours I have to run around or clean with Kallee. Monday was crazy. I had to unpack from the weekend in the Uintah, pack for the week of hunting, buy groceries for the hunt, ref a game, play a rec volleyball game, clean my dads office, and not to mention the laundry. Well, you know me, I got it done. Well let me confess the house was not all that clean.

Hhhhh! We were off. The Hopes family always does on big hunt of the year with all of the family and more. This year we went to Ferren Canyon. It was beautiful. I think everyone had fun. There were good moments, bad moments, and funny moments.

Lets start with the bad. Kallee got sick one night, we were up every twenty minutes from 11:00pm to 6:00am. We have not had a night like that in a long time.

Now for the good. Bob shot a very large two point. All the grand kids thought he was the greatest grandpa ever not to mention the best hunter with the best shoot. Grandma Sue built the kids a rope swing the entertained them all week. Thanks Grandma Sue!

Funny! Where do I begin? Lets start with the smallest point. Justin's deer. Lets just say "Bambi" is now in our freezer. He is the might hunter. He thought Easton would be so proud, but all he said is "Why is his horns so small?" Scout said, "Did you shoot a doe dad, did you?"
It was really quite funny. We all teased Justin all night.

Another funny site was when me, Ashton, and Ailese went hunting. All the boys traveled to far off places to go hunting so us girls decieded to go hunting with the kids. We loaded up our seven kids on the four wheelers to go hunting. One by one the kids went to sleep. We used one arm to drive and the other to hold sleeping kids. Easton leaned back to snooze with his head hanging off the back of the four wheeler. I thought he was leaning back to look at the trees, but when he would not respond, I pulled up his helmet and he was asleep. We got a lot of laughs from other hunters (all men). Nevertheless, we had fun.

It is so fun that my kids are getting older. We even made a push with the kids. Now only if I can get the girls old enough to go to the bathroom all by themselves. I would realy feel releived when I don't have to go the the potti every ten minutes. I'm excited for the years to come. Hunting has always been a big part of the Hopes family and I'm sure it always will be.
