Easter Weekend

After two days of indecision, we finally committed to going camping with the Hopes over Easter weekend. We had a great weekend despite the sand and wind. The Easter bunny was good to the kids.

Nothing is more fun than loading up 12 kids in the back of the truck to go hiking.

I must say, usually I am entertaining the kids with all the moms but somehow this trip was with all the dads (+me). I must say it is a very different experience doing adventurous things with a bunch of guys. As a mom I find myself saying things like:
"Okay that's far enough, come back"
"Get down from there, you'll get hurt"
"Hold onto my pocket and say close"
"Be Careful"
"Stay away from the edge, you could fall"
With the guys I did not hear one word of warning, rather I heard:
"The first one who can get to the top of that rock gets a treat"
"Yes, everyone jumps of that ledge"
"Come look at this dead animal at the edge of the cliff"
"Can you ski down this hill like me?"

The kids did great hiking down this steep hill then walking back up with minimal whining.

Rest assure after the guys entertained the kids, it was their turn to play. They all mysteriously disappeared for awhile then returned looking like this.
